Azura Selous Tented VillaDay 1:    *You CAN make your own arrangements to fly in to Dar es Salaam. Adventure begins with a flight from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve, the largest game reserve in Africa and the second oldest in the world! On arrival at Sambuzi Airstrip, a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to experience 3 nights of bushveld luxury at Azura Selous.

Azura Selous is an idyllic hideaway for discerning guests looking to experience unsurpassed Tanzania safaris in a luxurious setting, far from the tourist trails of the Northern Circuit. The lodge is situated on the banks of the Great Ruaha River in the heart of the Selous Game Reserve, affording guests relaxed armchair game viewing.

Tanzania accommodation at this safari lodge is encompassed in 12 sumptuous tents with en-suite facilities, air conditioning and plunge pools overlooking the watering hole. The communal areas are positioned around a rim-flow swimming pool and include an elevated lounge and dining area, all with views across the river. In addition to spending your days on explosive game viewing excursions, you can indulge in a medley of spa treatments.

Chiuba Bay View While DiningDay 5:    After breakfast, a vehicle is ready to take you on a road transfer to Sumbazi Airstrip for the flight back to Dar es Salaam. From there, you will fly in to Pemba where a representative from Chiuba Bay Lodge will be waiting for the road transfer to the lodge. Once there, you will wash off the dust of a rewarding safari jaunt with a leisurely stroll on the pristine sandy beach, breathing in the salty breezes as the warm Indian Ocean waters gently caress your feet!

There only 6 beautifully appointed bungalows, all promising an unforgettable night of intimacy and relaxation. The bungalows are built from local materials with earth brick walls and makuti thatched roofs, a true eco-traveler’s playground. Each bungalow is equipped with modern amenities including satellite TV, air conditioning, ceiling fan and a personal bar. There are 2 swimming pools, a gym as wellas spacious lounges and verandahs complete with comfy day beds from which to absorb the stunning scenery.

Ibo Island Lodge Historical RoomDay 6:    After breakfast, your road transfer will take you from Chiuba Bay Lodge to Pemba Airport where you will hop on board a light aircraft for the transfer to Ibo Island. You will be flown above the azure ocean, your eyes feasting on the mesmeric islands of the Quirimbas, drawn in by the splendid contrasts of cobalt waters, sparkling white sands and lush green foliage. Now this is paradise!

Your 3 nights at Ibo Island Lodge will put a smile on your face for many years to come. Your love nest will be a Sea Facing Room, one of 14 elegantly decorated rooms in three lovingly restored buildings that are over a century old. You can embark on guided cultural tours, visit the famed silversmiths of Ibo and engage with the friendly locals. Take advantage of the many exciting activities available at Dive Quirimbas including snorkeling, diving and dhow safaris among other exploits.

Medjumbe Beach Umbrellas & Loungers

Day 9:    After breakfast, you will be treated to some fantastic aerial vistas on a light air transfer to Medjumbe Private Island where you will spend 3 nights cosseted in luxury. There are 13 makuti thatched chalets spread along the beach, all featuring en-suite bathrooms with indoor and alfresco showers as well as decks with private plunge pools, hammocks and sun loungers. The interiors are stylishly furnished and equipped with ceiling fans, tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning, satellite TVs, minibars and mosquito screens. When you manage to tear yourself from all these lavish comforts, you can choose to spend your days in the water, exploring the underwater world, fishing or boat riding.

Day 12: You will hop on board a light aircraft to Pemba where you will be transferred by road to Coral Lodge for the last 2 days of your itinerary. You will stay in one of 10 luxury villas and be pampered by warm and friendly staff. Freestanding baths, rain showers and minibars are some of the amenities you will have at your disposal during your stay. You will also be ideally situated to explore Ilha de Mozambique, enjoying day tours to the island’s historical sites, including the 400 year old Sao Sebastian Fort.
